Ellon Youth Crit races

UPDATE _ FRIDAY 2/9/2011

THE RACE IS NOW FULL - NO MORE ENTRIES PLEASE.

Only a few days left till the 2nd Ellon crit race. This year the races are youth cats A,B,,C, D & E only and we are delighted that so many competitors have travelled from north and south to race in Ellon.

At time of writing this I have 48 competitors taking part.

Here are the details for competitors;

Here are the details for marshals and helpers;

TBA

Here is a wee film of the course taken a few weeks ago.

 There will be prizes kindly donated from Paligap, Holburn Cycles, Alpine Bikes and Cycle world. All the donations were specifically given to promote youth cycling in the area. The prizes will be given out as a mixture of race winners and spot prizes.
In addition all the riders will receive a commemorative medal

The races could not go ahead without the considerable support of Simon Hailey who organises the pedal car race and the local council who agreed to close the roads for us. We realise that the closed roads does cause some disruption to local residents and businesses but we hope that having such an event in Ellon more than makes up for the inconvenience.

In the afternoon the closed roads are given over to the pedal car race. Will last years winners in their new car be victorious once again or can the talented, but less experienced, Ythan QL (in last years winning car) take the spoils. Or will the threats issued by “The Pilots” come to the fore, Is there a new car being built secretly in a back shed somewhere in rural Aberdeenshire show up and take the winners flag?

Stick around to find out!
