Proposed 2012 District Youth Series

To show the District’s commitment to the development of youth cycling it is proposed to run a District youth series in 2012. The series will have at least one youth event run by each member club in the district. Points will be awarded at each race and the winners in each category will receive a trophy at the end of the year.
The series is very much in development and ideas are most welcome. A website for the proposed series can be found here:

2012 ADCA Youth series

Please note this is only a proposal and has yet to be ratified by the District committee. Rules and awarding of points have yet to be decided.

Hi There Everyone

As some of you already know, I have been asked to join British Cycling as a full time Tandem Pilot for Lora Turnham. I will be taking a break from work to be able to train and race full time and try to qualify for the Paralympics in 2012.

So far, I have been inundated with messages of support, thanks to everyone for their best wishes.

Anyone who would like to support me and/or the Diced Cap Charity can go to Justgiving to find out more: http://www.justgiving.com/FionaDuncan0121

Thanks

Track at Ellon Academy

We held a meeting with the leisure & recreation council manager and the rector of Ellon Academy about a cycle track to be designed into the new Ellon school which will be built in 2013. Basically there is no council money for a tarmac track but they have committed to look at whether a track could be fitted into the plot plans for the school. This will at least give us the opportunity to look for appropriate funding for a track facility.
